Baby Registry Tips and Tricks May 7, 2021
Have you been wondering what baby registry must haves you have to include in your registry? Or maybe even how to create a baby registry? Baby Registries, while exciting, can be a bit overwhelming. I remember when I created my first baby registry with Kinsley as a first time mom, I had no clue what to register for. Now that I’ve been through the ringer, I’m happy to share some of the must have items, as well as fun items, I put on our baby registry for Baylor. While all parents/babies are different, these are the items that personally worked very well for our little family. Enjoy these baby registry tips and tricks! I look forward to reading what you think! This post is in no way sponsored by any of the sites/companies mentioned.
How to Create a Baby Registry
When I had Kinsley, I just made a registry through Target. I went in the store with a scanner and scanned the items I thought we would need. With COVID still around, it may be a little different now. My sweet sister in law, Taylor, told me about Baby List. It is an online registry where you can register for items anywhere on the internet. Items can come from Target, Walmart, and even cute little online boutiques you may love.
I actually got so excited when she told me about this registry option. I immediately made an account (FREE) and started registering for things. It was literally the easiest experience ever. You get step by step instructions that are super easy to follow. Here is my registry on Baby List so you can see what I’m talking about. I love how you can easily add items from any website as well as see the different price points other stores carry the items.
Must Haves On Our Baby Registry

The following are items that were must haves for our registry:
- Gripe water (we used the Mommy’s Bliss brand with Kinsley) check for recalls! This brand has not been recalled, but some gripe water has been recalled for “undissolved matter” which can lead to choking.
- butt paste/spatula
- diapers in different sizes. Don’t just register for newborn! Your babe will outgrow them before you can use them all. We used Pampers Swaddlers with Kinsley after using a few brands we weren’t fans of.
- baby wipes
- saline nose drops and bulb
- thermometer (I like the ones where you touch their forehead or their ear)
- Ubbi Diaper Pail. I had so many people tell me diaper pails weren’t necessary. We truly loved having one with Kinsley. We had the Ubbi brand with her and it worked wonders for stinky diapers.
- bottles from different brands. You won’t know what kind your baby will prefer until you try them. Kinsley loved the Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow, so we are registering for those as well as the Comotomo brand.
- bottle drying rack
- if you plan on nursing:
- nursing pads
- Lanolin Nipple Cream (you’ll thank me later)
- my Breast friend nursing pillow (or boppy pillow)
- milk storage bags
- A GOOD pump. I tried using one of the Medela pumps with kinsley and was not a fan. This time I am wanting to use the Elvie pumps.
- Gel pads for your breasts/nipples
- Car seat (we are using the same brand/seat we used with Kinsley. Chicco Keyfit 30 with infant base. Infant seats make it super easy and convenient while traveling.
- Nursery Center/Pack and Play (this came in super handy because we could have a place to change Kinsley and store diapers/wipes in different parts of the house.)
Extra Items We Added To Baylor’s Baby Registry

Here are some fun/extra items that we would like to have for Baylor, but aren’t necessarily as important. Making sure to add lots of options on your Baby Registry is nice for people looking to purchase something. This way there are numerous price points available.
- Dock a tot
- items to decorate the nursery
- blankets
- wipe dispenser
- changing pad covers
- bather (helps with sink baths while baby is a newborn)
- high chair
- feeding covers
- clothing items you would like to have
- carrier
- Stroller
- swing
- gift cards
- Hatch Rest+ night light
- Co-Sleeper
Baby Registry Tips and Tricks Final Thoughts
While these are the items I find important/just for fun, doesn’t mean that you will feel the same. I just wanted to create a basic guideline for mom’s that may be a little overwhelmed on how or where to start. I hope this baby registry tips and tricks post is helpful!
