Self Care During Social Distancing April 2, 2020
Happy Thursday! I have gotten a few requests to do a “Self Care” during social distancing post during this crazy time. Because we have to social distance at home these days, we are not able to go to spas, salons, etc. What are the best self care tips? How can I do self care at home? What products are best for self care at home? I will be answering all of those questions in this blog post. Self care is easily attainable at home. Here are my biggest tips and tricks.
What are the Best Self Care Tips?
These are the tips I use to keep up with my self care and make sure I take the time for myself. Take at least 20 minutes a day to have quiet time for yourself. Whether this means reading a book, taking a bubble bath, listening to calming music, taking time for your self is super important. Have your hubby take care of the kiddos, or have them watch a movie or play a game.
How Can I Do Self Care at Home?
Self care at home is actually pretty easy. Set a calming atmosphere, light some candles and turn off the overhead lights. This will mimic going to a spa and instantly calm your mind. Put on some calming music. With Apple Music, you can instantly play a spa playlist without having to download any music to your phone. Draw a warm bubble bath and enjoy the serenity. This will be a good time to paint your nails, give yourself an at-home facial, take a bubble bath, condition your hair with a hair mask, etc.
To set a calming atmosphere, I also like to diffuse lavender essential oils in my diffuser (will link mine below). Lavender scents are instantly supposed to calm the mind and soul. Lavender also happens to be one of my favorite scents, so it is a win-win for me. Don’t like lavender? Use another scent that calms you like: peppermint, orange, eucalyptus, etc. Don’t like essential oils? You can light a scented candle instead. There are tons of spa scents available.
