Becoming a Blogger! June 17, 2019
Why did I make the decision of becoming a blogger? *Time to grab some popcorn and a drink.* Basically, it boils down to always having a love for fashion and sharing my affordable finds with all of my friends and family. My mom always reminds me of how I liked dress my younger brother up in my nice dresses when I was around 5 years old (he was 2 or 3 at the time). The fact that I loved sharing fashion so much is one of the major reasons why I decided to become a blogger. Another reason is because I want to grow in the business, technology, and communication fields. What better way to do this than to start blogging? Those three fields are the majority of what blogging is, but we will talk about that later.
Blogging? What is that?
Blogging is something I had never really thought about until earlier this year. When I stumbled upon a few fashion/beauty blogs online I thought to myself, “I would have so much fun doing something like that”! After discovering what goes into blogging and exactly how to be a blogger, Styled in Twin Acres was born. (How I came up with that name is another blog post I am working on). I knew that this could be a way to reach more people and share my personal style with them. Y’all…never could I have imagined having THIS much fun doing something that is “work”. Don’t get me wrong, blogging is a lot of work and extremely time consuming. But, because I love doing it so much, I don’t mind the time and effort it takes.
Being a Blogger is a Stress/Anxiety Reliever…
Blogging allows me to come out of my comfort zone and really share my true personality with people. For example, taking pictures in front of tons a people in public…yea I thought I could never do that. (Use the photos from the Drybar blog post for example). I love making new friends in the blogging world and sharing the items I find. Blogging has also been a huge stress reliever for me. When I am having a bad day, I turn to blogging and it helps me unwind and calm down. It is like my Zen area so to speak. It has helped me so much the last few of months (since I started blogging).
Besides the stress relief, since becoming a blogger, I have gained MANY valuable skills in the communication, business, and technology fields. I have always wanted to grow more in these areas. Blogging has definitely helped. It feels like I am learning something new every day. For example, when my original blog was lost the other day, I had to learn how to create an entirely new blog on a brand new platform, using a whole new design. Although it took me all day (and almost all night) I was able to research and figure it out by myself. It felt so freeing not having to rely on someone else to make it for me.
Hallelujah It is Done!
Finally finishing this blog was definitely one of my prouder moments. Before I started this journey, I would have literally laughed out loud at the thought of me trying to create something like this. Blogging has given me the confidence to believe in myself. As far as the communication and business aspects of blogging I told you about earlier go, I have had to initiate conversations with MAJOR brands and boutiques to negotiate brand deals and collaborations. I never had skills to do that before becoming a blogger. Boy, I am so glad I am able to do these things now. Blogging has allowed me to grow towards my goal of learning more in the technology, communication, and business fields. This is another major reason why I decided to put all my eggs in the basket and become a blogger.
Being a Blogger is Life.
That subtitle says it all. When someone messages me to let me know they bought/tried something I recommended, it makes me so happy. It literally feels like Christmas to me I get so happy. That aspect right there is worth more than its weight in gold. I truly hope each of you enjoy reading the fashion/beauty/lifestyle posts I create as much as I enjoy creating them. Whether it be from Styled in Twin Acres or my Instagram, it is my goal to bring you relevant/useful items. Without YOU and your support, I wouldn’t be able to do this. I am very appreciative of everyone of you that continue to support me and my blog. Whether you like/respond to my posts on Instagram or comment on my blog posts here, it really means a lot and does not go unnoticed.
The End is in Sight! Lolz
If you are still reading this…bless you. I hope you enjoyed reading about why I decided to become a blogger (and the few extra facts plugged in here and there). I probably went way overboard in answering that question but, hey, I like to spread the gospel if you know what I mean. Seriously though, if you love sharing a certain topic with people, I highly recommend giving blogging a shot. It has definitely been such a game changer for me. Also, If you are reading this, comment below in the text box with what makes YOU the happiest (besides your family of course). It could be blogging or another hobby/job that you love. I would love to learn more about you guys!
XOXO

Besides my wonderful family, traveling makes me so happy! I love experiencing new parts of the world, fishing a body of water I’ve never seen before, trying new restaurants in cities I never pictured myself in, or hunting a new to me, pristine wilderness.
“When someone messages me to let me know they bought/tried something I recommended, it makes me so happy.” This is true! When someone tries out something I recommended and liked it, it puts a smile on my face that I affected someone positively, even if it’s just a little.
